I teach in both the Environmental Studies and Physics departments here at St. Olaf College, and love to think about how and why the world works! In particular, I am interested in understanding how much (and at what rates) Earth’s climate and environment have changed through time, and how these global environmental changes can impact the marine biosphere. Most of my work focuses on developing sample sets of cultured and fossil corals for paleoenvironmental study. In my lab, we study the physical structure and chemical composition of fossil coral skeletons. We also are developing an aquarium that will be used to experiment with corals and other aquatic organisms. Please take a look at our Projects page if you're interested in joining the lab!
